double digits

Izzy turned 10 a couple of weeks ago. Time is flying by too quickly for me. I still am picturing a little girl in my head but when I look at her she is becoming a young lady. We had fun at the bowling ally and then home to her favorite birthday dinner of ceasar salad and nachos.  It is still weird not having the two oldest boys here to celebrate but Izzy was able to talk to them both as they remembered to call their little sister.

snow and more snow

We've had a great deal of snow over the past week. All we did was stay home and watch it come down. The kids and dogs played in it every day. They tried to sled at home but it was a bit too soft so we waited till today to go to the big hill and try the sledding there.

There was some skiing over the weekend which was pretty awesome, so they tell me...

Lots of baking was done last week. Shortbread and two batches of muffins which then got eaten by our little black ninja. She ate 14 muffins off the counter. No one was too happy with her. Nor was her tummy the next day. And I got to clean up the throw up. Yay!

I'm still trying to get back into this blogging thing again as it is such a great memory of our days. 

Also need to work on taking more pictures!

January 2

In one day we had a huge change in weather. We got over 6" of snow and temps dropped drastically. We decided to stay inside and snuggle by the fire since it was World Introvert Day. We did some research and learned about some famous introverts in history which Izzy then reported to us at dinner. 

Once the weather warmed a little by late afternoon I rallied my girl and dogs and did our daily walk together. It was warmer than I thought just very windy. I am glad we are sticking to it. The dogs are much happier and its good for me and Izz.

Still in awe that it is 2025. I am not sure where 2024 went 😕

Hello 2025

Hello again sweet blog. I have been missing from here for a very long time and and have certainly missed capturing our days and just keeping a general journal of our lives. I am going to do my best to keep up with it this year. I kind of feel like I have been in a daze for several years and not really sure why but am hoping to change that this year. Just going to take it day by day and see how it goes. 

Today we had fun with Polar Bear Swim day and put our toes in the stream by our house.

Then Issabelle has a cookbook she wants to work through this year so she made her fist dish of the year. Hoppin' John which is suppose to bring good fortune for the  new year . We could use some of that so we'll see how it goes.
