old stone house days
This summer Izzy and I spent a few Fridays at the Old Stone House for their kids Fridays. They had old games and fun crafts going on. She had fun but we have decided she has gotten a bit too old for them. She could probably lead one of the crafts next year!
Fort Ticonderoga
Took the kids to Fort Ticonderoga for their homeschool day. Our first field trip of the year. We had fun checking everything out and then got to go through their corn maze and ended the day by taking a drive up a mountain for a spectacular view. A very nice day with my two babes.
lake day
We finally had our first lake day of the summer. Kind of crazy that it is August and we are just getting out there. It was a beautiful day though. A slight breeze and clear skies. The kids had fun kayaking to their own private island and exploring while I sat on the shore and knitted.
day of soccer
Harkin and I spent a great day together over the weekend. We woke up extremely early and headed down to MA.
His club was participating in the New England day at the Revolution. His team played two mini games against teams from New Hampshire and Maine. They won both. We had a full day to explore the stadium and went to the top of the lighthouse where we could see the entire stadium and the Boston skyline. It was pretty amazing.
Then we got to watch the MLS game. CF Montreal vs New England Revolution. It was a super fun experience although a little chilly for the beginning of April :(
It was fun to have the day with Harkin. He'll be grown before I know it and out of the house like his big brothers.
water days
This week had some more hot days and we were able to get to the lake and pool to keep cool. Enjoying summer days!
lake day
We spent this ridiculously hot day, 95 degrees, at one of Vermont's beautiful state parks. Thank goodness for friends with boats and toys. The kids spent the afternoon on the boat taking turns in this awesome tube. They had a blast and were very suntanned and tired by the time we got home tonight.
Good summer fun.
last runs
So glad we hit the slopes for our last runs last Friday. This past week has been rainy and the trail count is significantly lower. The day we went, April 18th, was a beautiful bluebird day. A great way to end our season. I am happy they still enjoy skiing with their Mama as they are so much better than me at this point but they put up with me and where I want to go. Love my babes.
family time
I am trying to get back into the daily blogging about our current events but before I can do that I need to back up a bit.
We spent two weeks in California during the beginning of August as a family. It was a lot of together time which we needed after William being away for the year and then all summer both boys work full time so everyone wanted to just have fun together. And that we did. We went to the beach and there was lots of surfing, we ate good food, went for bike rides, hikes, go-karting, mini-golfing, and lots of swimming at my brother house.
We were there for my nephews wedding so that was fun and seeing all my family was great,. The kids had a good time with their cousins and getting to know them all better.
It was a pretty awesome trip and so glad we made the time to do it.
september 1
It was a glorious day at the pool. It was pretty empty since most kids were in school. it was just fun to hang out and relax with one of their good friends.
learning about bees
We went to a class where we built bee boxes and learned how to trap them and then feed them some sweet water so that we can follow them to their beehive, if we ever wanted to find a natural beehive. It was pretty neat to learn about and when we got home they tried out the boxes, but haven't found a hive yet.
ears pierced
We finally completed the Christmas gift. Getting her ears pierced. It took us awhile to find just the right place. She was nervous as they just use a needle with no numbing. But it was super quick and she did great. Its been about two weeks now and all is healing well.
