it pays to be late

So it is the end of October and were heading to get our pumpkins somewhere. We found a cute little farm stand/orchard that had a nice selection and then they still were picking apples. The kids were thrilled as I thought we had missed them. We went out to the orchard  and had it to ourselves. Everyone had fun picking apples and then climbing up on a stump obstacle. Once we got back the woman was so nice and gave the kids hot apple cider, plus a small white pumpkin each for free, a watermelon, and a funky green pumpkin. Plus that huge bag of apples and 4 giant pumpkins. . It only cost us 20.00 which the big boys couldn't get over. It was their last weekend and she was trying to get rid of most of their stuff I guess. We had a great time and made a for a wonderful fall afternoon.

soccer season: fall 2018

Soccer season was a good one. Both boys were on winning teams, which made the season a happier one. They both played hard and scored a few goals. This is their favorite sport and they love playing. They are literally counting down the days till their indoor soccer, which starts this weekend!

halloween at the libraries

Our two favorite libraries were having Halloween parties this week. We got to go on a scavenger hunt, watch a puppet show and of course get to trick or treat. Issabaelle and Harkin love the fact that they can dress up so many times and be different characters each time. It's been really fun so far. Can't wait to Halloween night!

outside

The weather has changed. I think we have seen the last of the warm days. There was snow several days already this week. Then the sun came out on Friday and we headed out for a short nature hike. It was quick but just what we all needed at the end of a busy week of studies at home. It was so enjoyable to be with all my kids in the woods. (Landon is the shadow with me, he's taller than his mama!)

We have had  a fire going for about a week now and are ready for the snow to keep falling. Getting ready for ski season.

45

A month into my 45th year. Life is busy but good. Thanks to my babes, it is what I love.
Thanks to my sweet man for making it what it is. You are my always and forever.

way too quick

Grammy and Grampy came to visit but it was too short. Our days were busy with games and books. The boys had soccer which was hard for them. They wanted to be with their G&G. We made the best of it but really need to have a much longer visit next time!! Thanks for making the drive. Love you.

totally camouflaged

One of the last warmer days, Landon was a super big brother and spent the afternoon building a hideaway with the two monkeys. They had such a great time and loved that when I went to find them I couldn't. They were totally camouflaged, well the orange hats kinda gave them away, but otherwise I didn't know where the fort was to begin with. Pretty fun times...

september slipped away

I know we are now in the middle of October, which is crazy for me to comprehend.

The past eight weeks have really flown by. Every day it has been soccer, which means lots of driving and preparing for dinners way early in the day. Not to mention that we have been trying hard to get in our studies. It has been fast and furious in the fact that I feel like I am on the go but in all honesty I really am not. Our days start late due to the later nights. Most days I can go with the flow but there are days I start to panic and think we are not doing enough, especially William.

It is has been hard for me to relax but I know that he is learning quite well. He is a very bright young man and loves to read and any sort of trivia. We have been managing a new device as well. A phone for him, which is a good thing but is taking me some time to get used to. Trying to help him manage his time on it. He loves to read soccer news.

Harkin has joined his big brothers in wanting to do lots of lessons. He wants to learn how to read, spell words and loves numbers! Trying to manage everyone's time with Mama has been challenging but we are starting to get a decent routine.  Landon is taking a more independent route this year and then of course Issabelle thinks she should be doing something. We usually sit and do some type of creating as her "lessons". The days are full of activity but I wouldn't change it. I love being the one to help with their learning and do enjoy my time with them, although it does seem to be slipping by.

This week soccer ends for a bit and we are going to try and do a few excursions and enjoy the rest of the fall weather. Snow is on the way soon.
