birthday walk

We had a nice little walk yesterday for my birthday. It was a much warmer day than expected for late September, which was nice. It was a pretty mellow afternoon as the big boys had soccer, which normally happens. We had spent Sunday having a big family meal together to celebrate. It was  wonderful start to a new year.

little chef

Harkin has been really interested in cooking lately. He usually makes something once a week.
So far he has made a lasagna, macaroni and cheese, strawberry shortcake and now today meatballs! Hoping all this cooking will inspire him to actually eat the food. He can be a bit of a picky eater.:)

corn maze

A wonderful crisp almost first day of fall adventure. We went through a corn maze and got a bit lost. This was the first time for Harkin and Issabelle and they thought it was pretty cool. Landon and William led the way until Mama took a short cut right through the corn, literally, and then we found our way out. Ha ha. :)

Afterwards we got to feed a few goats and baby cows and then walked along the river for a bit. A quick but fun outing for the morning.

story walk #3

Once again we headed to the story walk to read the new story. This time we had treats to go with us. It was a chilly day to have a chilly treat though. Oh, well, we had fun anyhow!

crafting weekend

This weekend I spent some time crafting with each of them to make a gift for one of our librarians who is about to have a baby.

They both had a great time and did really well.

Issabelle's has a jingle bell inside while Harkin's makes a crinkly noise. They are super excited for the baby to play with them.

jaxson's birthday

Jaxson turned 8 last week and Harkin helped make carrot muffins just for dogs as his special treat. We had a picture book that had a recipe in it and have been wanting to make it for awhile. Everyone sang him a happy birthday, which he was confused about but happy to have a yummy treat to eat.

books

All set for another exciting year of learning.  I had to move their boxes from the office so it cuts down on the traffic in there since that is where Eric is now working. This make things a little easier to get to. Has all our books and things we use regularly at easy access. Will and Hark still need to make their name sign;)

summer project

I spent the summer slowly working on this project for Harkin. It is one of those parachute things for his tiny stuffed animals. The initial test flight was OK. With a windier day and more height it may work much better. But he will still play with it and have fun.

Now onto Issabelle's.

sweet smiles

Getting ready for bed with a little glowing light.:)

dirt

Issabelle was so excited to make "dirt" for us last weekend. She loved hiding the worms for everyone to find. She really enjoys being in the kitchen helping with cooking and baking. I love having her by my side as a helper :)

soccer twins

These two enjoy dressing alike when they can. We don't have too many of the same shirts but these were from their big brothers. Eric got them when he went to Ireland over 12 years ago. Now they love wearing them and playing soccer in the backyard together.

another story walk

We went for another story walk this week, this time bring Harkin. It was fun since he was the one who read the story to Issabelle and I just followed along.  We are going to try and go every other week when they change the story until the end of October.

soccer season

Soccer season is a little different this year. No games and masks at all times but he is out there loving it. The big boys started preseason this week and their season will be different as well. At the moment no games and masks at all times as well.  The new normal;)

around the pond hike

Another day in the woods. Around a pond and also up a ridge. We were able to see tadpoles and minnows which was exciting for the littles. It also was a cool crisp day, almost fall like. I can't believe summer is almost over :(
