four: dinner and presents
After a long day at the water park, Harkin still had lots of energy to come home and open presents from Grammy and Grampy. His excitement was so wonderful. Everything was just what he wanted "his whole life". Landon helped put a few things together and then it was dinner and cake! Harkin's request- Hamburgers, french fries, salad and apples. with a strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream cake. All was enjoyed. One last present of the day from us. An awesome digger. It was a super fun day for a very special four year old!
four: at the waterpark
Harkin was super excited to go to the water park. Even more so when we got there as he has grown since last year. He was able to go down the orange slide. One of the big ones that you had to climb the huge stairs to get to. He had such a great time and must have gone down at least 10 times. He had fun playing with Daddy and his brothers. Issabelle went around the lazy river a few times but overall she was taking it easy. She wasn't feeling to great that day. It was a good day for a four year old though.
four: early morning
Harkin was so excited to turn four. He had started counting down the days I think a month before. We woke up bright and early and he was ready to start the day. His brothers came in and gave him his presents right away. He was thrilled with it all. A bow and arrow and a car carrier. Just perfect for a four year old. Surprisingly he did really well with the bow that we had to make a few rules. He could only shoot in the basement until the spring came. He has too good of a shot and is likely to break something. We played a bit but then got ready to head out the door for his adventure.....
work and play: all in a day
Our days at home are usually pretty active. There is always something to do. This day everyone had their own ideas of what they were planning. Play dough, fire trucks, science projects and art activities filled our morning. Everyone stayed pretty focused. I got some household things done while checking in on everyone often. Then a nice long rest and reading for the afternoon. I do love our days at home.
buried
We're in the midst of a blizzard. Which is pretty awesome for extending the winter a bit. We are also still recovering from more illness. We have been hit with some pretty bad sickness this past month, hence the quiet here on the blog. I'll stay quiet just a bit longer and then play catch up in a few days. We're hoping to get the mountain towards the end of the week if all goes well.
sunshine and snowshoes
A glorious Saturday morning when we had snow, the two little ones and I ventured outside to explore the woods a bit. They loved having their sunglasses and snowshoes on.
