the woods

The past few days the weather has cooled and it is beginning to really feel like Fall.  We have been enjoying the woods and the company of friends.  We have gone on two hikes in three days and I still want more.  It relaxes me so and is such a beautiful place to be.  The boys enjoy finding neat things and really take the time to look all around them and appreciate their world.  Sigh

Llamas

Part two of our big adventure day was a visit to a llama farm.  They were fun to watch play and run and so very soft.  The boys really had a great time petting and walking the animals.  It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

clay

We had a big outing yesterday: I will break it up into two parts.

First we went to Sheffield Pottery.

we saw where the clay is mined
how it is sifteddifferent types of clay: these are the natural colors how it all gets mixedthe final product

these pallets of clay on the shelves are headed for Bennington Potters, which is where we get our dishes from, I think it is pretty cool that we now know where the origin is for them, makes me feel more connected to the things we buy

we each got a sample piece of clay to bring home and play with
This amazing field trip was planned by a friend of mine whom we are going to take pottery classes from. This got the boys so excited to start the class. They are anxiously awaiting the first day and have all their ideas planned out already!

new season

My baby had his first soccer practice tonight. He has been looking forward to this for days!  I have to say he was pretty good and fast.  I guess keeping up with an older brother will do that.  This is big stuff, being on a team and all.

funny picture

I was organizing my photos last night and came across this picture from years ago.(prekids) The days we spend teaching our dog tricks. She really is winking at you!

Happy Labor Day!
