four: early morning

Harkin was so excited to turn four. He had started counting down the days I think a month before. We woke up bright and early and he was ready to start the day. His brothers came in and gave him his presents right away. He was thrilled with it all. A bow and arrow and a car carrier. Just perfect for a four year old. Surprisingly he did really well with the bow that we had to make a few rules. He could only shoot in the basement until the spring came. He has too good of a shot and is likely to break something. We played a bit but then got ready to head out the door for his adventure.....

work and play: all in a day

Our days at home are usually pretty active. There is always something to do. This day everyone had their own ideas of what they were planning. Play dough, fire trucks, science projects and art activities filled our morning. Everyone stayed pretty focused. I got some household things done while checking in on everyone often. Then a nice long rest and reading for the afternoon. I do love our days at home.

buried

We're in the midst of a blizzard. Which is pretty awesome for extending the winter a bit. We are also still recovering from more illness. We have been hit with some pretty bad sickness this past month, hence the quiet here on the blog. I'll stay quiet just a bit longer and then play catch up in a few days. We're hoping to get the mountain towards the end of the week if all goes well.

sunshine and snowshoes

A glorious Saturday morning when we had snow, the two little ones and I ventured outside to explore the woods a bit. They loved having their sunglasses and snowshoes on.

so much snow

One of the best weeks of winter weather since we have moved to VT. Over 3 feet of snow in a week! The kids had so much fun playing and building sledding/ski runs. They had some great afternoons in the snow at home and at the mountain!

marble town

My kids love marbles. We have plenty to go around and they are used for all sorts of things. I came across this cute little game and had to give it a try. It came with its own set of marbles, which are pretty cool because they are bigger than what we have. It has been a huge hit for everyone, but especially Harkin. He loves trying to get the marbles through the tunnels and has learned some new numbers by it. Which he is really into these days- numbers that is. It definitely has filled up an afternoon.

cake time

Issabelle had a lemon raspberry cake with a cream cheese frosting. She was very happy about us singing "Happy Birthday" to her, just didn't quite understand about the waiting till we are done. But it was fun. She is so cute, snugly, lovable, silly, stubborn, crazy, and sweet all at the same time. We adore her so and  happy to have her with us- now a big two year old! Simply amazing!
