a birthday gathering

We had our friends over to celebrate Issabelle's birthday. The little ones made a snowman craft and then we sang happy birthday to her . William was sweet and baked the cupcakes and made a snowman out of them. She thought it was fun to have all these people singing to her. Then the kids just played the afternoon away.

Hard to believe the first month of 2018 is already gone. I started with a bang. I was a de-cluttering fool. And then we were all sick for a bit. So much so that Harkin ended up with bronchitis. The coldest days were here and we kept to inside for so long. The mountain even closed for a day so it was kinda crazy. We ran out of wood and were heating with oil for the first time ever.!

Then we got into a good rhythm. We worked hard at lessons most days and a few days a week the boys spent time on the mountain, either for fun or work in Will's case. I did not get to the mountain until the last week of the month. Twice though since we had a certain 3 year old who wanted to ski for her birthday. She had talked about if for months! Thankfully it was a pretty awesome day. Warmer temps and sun shining. We all skied together for the first time is so long. It was fun to see the big boys show us their tricks and then of course we had to do the terrain park and trees just like them. It was a fun day.

We seem to be staying home more often which I enjoy. We have so many activities and projects we can do and of course our big backyard.  I am looking forward to skiing more during February and March.

Saturday was warmer than usual. These three spent several hours outside together happily making a new fort. Landon has these great ideas and the two little ones are so eager to help. They had a great time together and I got to walk around the driveway for my exercise finally!

Will was at the mountain in a competition. He did pretty good for his first one... 15th. Eric said his run was pretty awesome. Lots of jumps with big air.

My sweet little lady is just like her mother when it comes to chocolate. Loves it and is thoroughly enjoying her cake!

first paycheck

William took his first job this winter. He is a junior ski instructor at Jay peak. He had a few days of training and then has been helping teach little kids. He has has a pretty good time so far and has met some new people. He brought home his first paycheck and was pretty excited about it. Right now he is just stocking it away for the future.

It's pretty awesome that he is growing up and such an amazing young man, but I still can't believe it all. He is and always will be my first baby.

minnie underwear 11-2017

So way back when, in November, on a Sunday Issabelle decide she wanted to use the potty all day long. Just like that. I suggested we get some underwear since putting a diaper on and off isn't exactly easy. Daddy has prime with amazon so he ordered the Minnie underwear that she wanted. That was all she would say, "Daddy bought me these".

We were still busy with activities with the boys so it took us several weeks before we were totally out of diapers. With the boys I just stayed home for a week and were done. We weren't doing the night time yet since she was soaking wet each time she woke up. When we finally had the days down we moved to nighttime. It took a little longer than I am used to but also much earlier than I had ever done. I always waited until 3 years old. This little lady turns 3 in two weeks. And she is totally over  diapers:) We've even added to the underwear collection since then. So big!
