painting portraits

So this fall I have decided to host a bi-weekly group that will focus on famous artists. We are reading the Laurence Anholt artists series books. Then we are following his activity book and creating our own masterpieces. Today we read about vanGogh and painted portraits of our friends. All the kids were really into it and had a great time. It is just the right amount of exposure to the artist and the activities are great for our mixed age group.

I love it because I love art so much and the boys and I have gotten away from it. I am trying to make it a top priority this fall and to try out some new ideas.
