escape and celebrate

In honor of Will's sweet sixteen we had a small celebration with our close friends. He had been wanting to do the escape room for a long time.

There were 4 boys working to solve the puzzles. They were doing really well and almost got out in time. Unfortunately, they got stuck for about 15 minutes trying to figure out how to open a lock. Funny thing is none of them knew how to manipulate this sort of lock. The guy was rather confused and asked them if they needed help. YES! It was the sort of lock you would find on a school locker. Um, we don't go to school!

I found it rather funny. They were a tiny bit annoyed but got over it while we ate cupcakes.

fathers day

There were early morning soccer games and then home to rest for a little bit. We then headed to Jay to have a nice family lunch and watch the women's soccer game. We are a little occupied with the world cup these days.. Anyhow it was a nice afternoon of napping and then we had a good dinner at home enjoying the awesome daddy that Eric is.

froggy fun

This summer we made a hopeful list of fun things to do. We used frog cutouts,(hence the name of this post), in which to list them on. Today we did our first "froggy fun" activity. We got milkshakes from warners. A local summer snack shop. This was a first for us and everyone thought they were delicious. Especially since it was in the 80*. A perfect cool down treat at the end of the day.

tumble and dance

Issabelle has been taking a dance class for little ones the past two months and absolutely loves it. She gets so excited when the day comes to go. They are doing a mix of dance moves with a bit of yoga mixed in. So fun to watch her.

in memory

My Mom passed away 9 years ago this month. On the date of her death we happened into a barber shop for Landon and they were having a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Izzy and Harkin made a bag that would hold a candle during a Relay for Life walk for both of my parents. I am glad Landon decided to get his haircut that day. It was a special memory that was perfect timing.

mother's day

We had a nice breakfast at home and then off to a soccer game. A quick return home to change and then we were off to a place we discovered a few months ago. Everyone was excited , only to get there and find out it was closed. It was off season at the moment.

We decide to drive around and find another place. This is kinda hard since we live in a rather rural area and not too many decent restaurants and by this time people were hungry(hangry really). I made a quick decision which turned out to be one of the better places we have eaten since moving here. Finally pizza that was delicious. We hadn't even left when we were discussing he next time we could come here. So a winner.

And I got to bring these yummy treats home for a quiet tea time post bedtime.

It was a nice day with my family.

memorial day weekend

We had a fun weekend just relaxing at home. Only Harkin and Issabelle had soccer so it was quiet on that end. The boys played golf with Eric one day while I took H and I on the rail trail with their bikes. Then on Monday we all went and played frisbee golf. By the time I got around to taking pictures Eric and Izzy had had enough. It was lots of walking through the woods and buggy. So they left us to finish up and went to get some drinks. It was a great start to our summer!! Harkin really loved it and did such a great job. He's working hard to keep up with his brothers.

dairy parade

The beginning of June always brings the dairy festival to our small town. It's quite the event around these parts. We haven't been too many times but this year we didn't have anything going on so we went to the parade. Landon and Daddy had to be somewhere else unfortunately.  But the rest of us had fun seeing all the bands, shriner cars and tractors. Of course their favorite part was all the goodies they got. Candy, pencils, water bottles etc. A fun morning of free entertainment!!
