the lions of march

March has been pretty amazing so far. We had an epic week last week where it snowed for 5 days straight. The big boys were on the mountain 6 out of 7 days!! This is what we are here in VT for, and why we homeschool so they can take advantage of mother natures gifts.

At home we had some fun as well. Daddy built a pretty cool sledding course and jumps that have been used every day. The temperatures are pretty cold still so hoping the snow sticks around for a bit. Tomorrow, the first official day of spring,  we will be back at the mountain. Harkin's first time since he broke his leg. Everyone is pretty excited!

turning 5

My littlest guy turned five last week. 5! Oh, how time goes by. He's made the turn to big guy, but he says he will snuggle with me forever. Due to his leg we couldn't do his original plan but he was a great sport about it. We went out to lunch and then just spent the day opening presents and playing with them all. At the end of the day his big brothers played an x-box game with him which was a real treat. He was super excited and content to just be and have his birthday at home. It was a relaxing day and fun to watch him celebrate.

spring like weather

We had the most gorgeous afternoon on the last day of February. The temps reached 50* and the sun was shining. Thankfully we still had a bunch of snow so the kids could sled and play ski on our hill. It was just the right thing to get Harkin out and using his leg, since his cast had come off the day before but he was hesitant to actually use it. We all needed a good dose of vitamin D and were so refreshed at days end.

to the moon

We made jet packs yesterday and they were so excited to head to the moon. They spent some time outside where it was all rocky playing and pretending they were on the moon. I love how a simple craft can make the day and their imaginations take "flight".
