skate park

Eric had vacation last week. We stayed at home and just went to some local places. Places we don't usually get to go with Daddy.
The boys had a great time at the skate park, although my heart skipped a beat a few times, mostly while watching William.

the big game

Our first ball game! It was such an exciting night! The boys made it through the entire game- there were fireworks afterwards. These were the first one we have seen done professionally. William turns to Eric after a the finale and says "We have GOT to get some of those!"

new season

William had his first game of the season on Saturday. He has moved up to the U8 league so many of the kids are bigger, but he held his own. He saw a lot of playing time, so by the end he was a little tuckered out. The fields are wider and longer than last year and there are less time outs. He has his work cut out for him.

He even had a chance to play goalie.

And of course we can't forget the sideline player!

new stuff

There are so many new and exciting things going on for William this Fall. One of them being hockey. He is taking a learn to play session. He had two classes so far and seems to enjoy it.

learning

Auntie L gave us these skim boards a few weeks ago. Today was the first time we were able to use them. William was determined to learn how to do it all by himself.
I was not going in the water. You see when we woke up it was 60*. I packed for all kinds of weather, but it actually turned out to be a bit warm. ( As long as you laid down on the blanket and had a coat on.) Of course little kids never notice these things.

So that was school for today!

Tea and Tastings

Today was an adventure day and our monthly visit with Great Gram.

So we headed to a local Arboretum where they were having a "Tea and Tasting" for free! Now I assumed it would just be a little snack here and there, like when you are at the local market for tastings. But we were in for such a treat. It was a full on meal. They had the most amazing foods and deserts, many made from their vegetable and herb gardens.

My boys were loving it! Our favorite was a chocolate chip scone.

The room was filled with ladies and gentlemen, all dressed to the nines. We were dressed for adventure(there were hikes to be taken afterwards), however my boys were well behaved gentlemen themselves. Once we had our fill we headed to tour the gardens. Very cool!
The banana tree

Landon was loving this statue. And then with maps in hand they were ready for our hike.

This little snake startled William just a bit.Onto the Bamboo forest.
The fearless leader

making sure Gram is right behind
ah, we found mommy.
And a game of pooh sticks to end the day.
The day was great and I always love how calm we all are after a day with nature.
It is a great way to split up our week.

Hard Work

The boys did their "work " today!
