a creative week

I ran a robot class at the library and it was such fun to see all the kids ideas and how they came out. Everyone was so very into it.

Then we had our last class of the Red Clover Book Club that I have been leading all year. We made a mixed media collage of  the ten books that we read throughout the year. There was an element from all the books and in the center there was a big poop since the winner of the award went to the book, I Eat Poop. It was really fun to see the kids ideas.

crafty lady

This little lady loves to create. Every day she is busy in the art cabinet pulling out something or other to make. Some days we do thing together, others she just comes up with ideas all on her own. I do love seeing how her creations will come out and love how she has the time to be able to do it. One of the perks of being home all day.

lego table

Landon and Eric were able to make a table this weekend to be used as a work table to build on. He was getting too big for the floor. This gives him plenty of space to spread out and a little bit more storage.

monday

My sweet girl had me to herself this morning and we spent it learning about India and making crafts. She was very into it all and had a fun day at home.

gingerbread cookies

I made gingerbread cookies but wanted to do something different and therefore dipped them in dark chocolate. They may not have looked the best but tasted pretty good.

gingerbread houses

We spent the better part of the day baking, mixing and finally decorating gingerbread houses. They actually stayed together and everyone had fun with the surprise candies that daddy picked out. This was the first time Izzy and Harkin had ever made one so they were SO into it! The boys did a great job, taking their time and really putting a lot of thought into it.

frosted trees

Landon kept himself busy this week making these awesome macaroon trees. They are super tasty and he was very intent while making them. I always love seeing my kids at work.

gramma in a box

Trying to make December fun I tried out a subscription box called "Gramma in a Box". Will joked that Grammy was teleporting to visit us- if only. Anyhow it is prebaked cookies to decorate and other candy projects to make. They all had fun making them and I didn't have to go searching for special items that we would need.

It was cute and I haven't decided if we will continue, they all think it is worth it but since we love to bake anyhow I am not sure. We'll see.

For a cold December morning it was a fun activity.

snowflake making

We had a fun afternoon making snowflakes. A very simple activity but something I had never shown the two littles and one the big boys and I hadn't done in awhile. They all really enjoyed it, I think Landon most of all. He made about 5 or 6.
