stories and building

What a great day at the library. We read stories about building houses and then all the kids and moms worked together to make their own building, using these cool straw connectors.  Issabelle and Harkin were so into it. It was tons of fun and then we got free lunch afterwards! Libraries are pretty awesome.

calm day at the lake

One of our days at the lake this July. The water is pretty shallow so miss Issabelle can walk very far out which she loves. Harkin had a great time on a friends paddle board, it was just the right size for him. We spent the entire day there enjoying our time and grateful to be able to go so easily.

july's end

Hard to believe this is the last day of July already. I was being so intentional about writing here each night in the beginning of the month and then who knows- I got tired and life took over. It has been a pretty good month. Hot at least. We have made it to the lake several times, the boys had soccer camp, we've played with our best friends lots, been to the library plenty, and have had many good days at home. Trying to hold onto summer a bit more. August will bring pre-season soccer and not sure how our schedule will be, but do plan on being at the lake a few more times at least.

early morning hours

These two have been waking early and their mama is not quite ready to get up. We haven't been having the greatest of sleeps, but yet they still manage to wake up at the same time every morning. So I sometimes let them head downstairs before me. They have been having a great time with their stuffed animals. Taking them for rides in the wagon and having picnics. They really have such fun together. It so warms my heart that they are such good friends.

I believe this to be one of the best things Eric has ever made for our family. They can sped hours in here creating and using their imaginations for all sorts of things. Even the two bigger ones join in now and again. They used to love theirs when we were in CT. It makes for great lazy summer afternoons.

first lake day

With all the rain we had in June we hadn't a chance to get to the lake. The weather is finally getting hot this week.  We spent the day there on Wednesday. The lake was super high, due to the rain, and there was little beach space. We found a spot and played in the sand but mostly the water since it was hot. Landon used his metal detector a bit and found some cool metal pieces. It was a good first day.
