the friends at the farm
There is a small roadside farm stand not too far away from us. On our way home from soccer I saw a sign stating that Donald and Daisy would be coming for a visit. The day came and I took my two babes.
What a surprise to find that Mickey and Minnie were there as well. Harkin is fascinated with these characters. We have a plethora of them at our house ("the friends" as they are called) so he was in awe that they were actually here. He just followed them around wanting to keep hugging and chatting them up. Mickey even went on a hayride with us. Harkin kept asking my why Goofy or Pluto hadn't come. I didn't have the answer.
I was just about ready to go, buying some stuff from the stand when he comes running over to me in such excitement. Goofy had made it! And being Goofy he was dressed like Santa. So silly. We stayed another half hour following Goofy around and getting more hugs and pictures.
Issabelle loved Minnie, Daisy and Donald right away but it took her the whole time we were there before she would finally go over to Mickey. And Goofy, well forget about that. She was having nothing to do with him.
They did manage to break away for a few minutes and get their faces and arms painted, which was fun. It was such a silly little hour of our weekend.
shelburne farms harvest festival
Fall is one of my favorite seasons. Especially since we are here in VT. Cool crisp mornings and the changing of the leaves.. wait a minute. We are so not having that right now. We have been having another summer with 80* days.
However there are so many things going on I am determined to adventure out. I took the littles and William (Landon chose to stay home with Dad) to a harvest fest. We had a fun time but it was so very hot. They loved the hay maze and animals. Their favorite part was the horse drawn carriage ride. They said it went fast up the hill. We are hoping to visit the farm again when it really is fall. Should be here soon.
messy and creative
Once again I am hosting our friends here every so often to create. Right now we are following this book for our creative endeavors. They are collaborative and fun. It gets their creative juices flowing and then afterwards there is lots of time for playing and hanging out with each other. Always a good time.
the boxer bee
These two have such a great time together. They borrowed William's boxing gloves and went outside to battle. The bee had a bit more bite in her and won the match with a stinger punch:)
way too short
We had a quick 3 day visit with Grammy and Grampy this summer. Unfortunately, everyone wasn't feeling great so we just hung out at home and played. Which was fun but we sure do wish it was longer. Thanks for making the trip. Hope we can see you again soon.
